July's Outfit Diaries
Here are some of my favourite outfits I wore in July! I really tried to amp up my looks in NYC and I think I managed to come up with these three cute looks that I'd love to share with you guys. To start off, this is probably my favourite look. In my previous blog post about my favourite places to thrift in NYC (check it out if you haven't already!), I mentioned how I thrifted this amazing Budweiser dress. It's still one of my all-time favourite pieces and I think I paired it perfectly in the city with a pair of shorts underneath, white Nike sneakers, my round Ray Bans, Madewell star earrings, my Kanken mini backpack and red lipstick. This piece speaks for itself and doesn't really need many accessories. I really love the details on this piece, including the embroidery on the collar and the red buttons. It's such a unique dress and one that I know will be in my wardrobe forever.
This second outfit is perfect for those cooler summer days where wearing pants is acceptable. However, the day I wore this outfit was unfortunately not one of them and I ended up dodging into shops seeking air conditioning every second I got. Luckily, I still looked cute! Anyway, I really love the utilitarian trend that's been happening lately, especially because green is one of my favourite colours to wear. Here, I tried to keep things more neutral but wanted to reserve a pop of colour in the graphic on my t-shirt. I wore my green wide leg cropped pants from Urban Outfitters, paired with a beige t-shirt with a great graphic on it that I borrowed from my mom. As for accessories, I wore my black Nikes, round Ray Bans, star Madewell earrings, and a vintage brown braided belt with a gold buckle from my dad. I absolutely love this look and think it really works well with the utilitarian vibe that's been going on lately.
Lastly, this look is probably the most classic of the three and ties into the western theme that I've been drawing a lot of inspiration from lately. I paired a white button down shirt from ASOS with my Alexa Chung denim midi, and accessorised with my Madewell red bandana scarf. The scarf really elevates the look and showcases how simple accessories can really take it to the next level. I also added a western inspired belt and my Fahrenheit 451 tote bag, which I got from Politics and Prose in DC. This bag has a great red graphic that tied into the scarf, and also allows me to showcase my love for one of my favourite books!
I hope this gave you guys some end of summer outfit inspiration, and hope you enjoy these looks!
