New York Botanical Gardens
A few days ago, I went with my mum to the Brooklyn Botanical gardens. It was a beautiful day, 72 degrees and sunny, perfect for strolling around the gardens! It was absolutely beautiful. We started out with lunch at the Hudson Garden Grill. I would highly recommend making reservations before you go, as it can get quite crowded. However, since we got there only 15 minutes after it opened at 11:45, we were able to get a seat outside. It was perfect weather, and our waiter was very friendly. For lunch, my mum ordered the Hibiscus cooler and their daily special Gazpacho soup. I got a strawberry smash drink, and the lobster club. All of the food was delicious and fresh, as the menu changes seasonally to best accommodate what's in season. There was also a lovely Georgia O'Keeffe gallery going on that we were able to see, although we tried to keep it brief so we could go back outside! The art was beautiful, and the exhibit included some of the real flowers O'Keeffe was inspired by. As for the gardens, they were stunning and I would recommend planning at least a few hours to be able to enjoy them. My favourite places were the rock garden, which featured a waterfall and various mountain plants, the Rockefeller rose garden, and the outdoor waterfall in the river. Unfortunately, we were unable to go to the conservatory as we ran out of time, but I'm sure I'll be back another time this summer to check it out! As for my outfit, I wore an Alice and Olivia dress that I was able to snag just the day before at their sample sale in Downtown Manhattan! It was perfect for the weather, and managed to be comfortable and breezy while still looking amazing. I highly recommend you guys check out the New York Botanical Gardens this summer, or any other botanical garden near you.
